So I quit my gym, it bored me and I spent too much for facilities I never used. I was left in a rut though because it’s the summer. I NEED to look smokin’. So I found a posting for once a week Kickboxing Classes on CL. It was $10 for the first class so I figured I’d give it a go.
Not gonna lie, sooo.. my entire body protests. While working out, all my muscles creak and complain from years of a sedentary lifestyle (read: lazy ass sitting at a computer all day stuffing my face with unhealthy food. I know. It’s all my fault) and I have to push myself to feel the burn. Ashley is awesome though and is great at motivating the class. It helps when I imagine myself 10lbs lighter + toner. (I find myself working out with laser-like focus.) We work on abs, thighs, arms, glutes. Ashley changes up the exercises so we’re not bored. We also do high/low intensity cardio. Needless to say, pain is love.
Afterwards, it’s totally, utterly, completely worth it. I feel like I accomplish more in an hour with Ashley than endless hours on the treadmill/elliptical. I’m achy but in a good way. Workin up a sweat, great music, small classes, reasonable prices, getting out aggression, good variety of exercises–I love it. A few more weeks and I know my arms will be ready for The Gun Show. Not only that, all of me will be ready for what’s really important—-the Victoria’s Secret bikini I’ve been dying to wear. -Jules Y. New York
Kick Ash has moved West and I finally had a chance to try the class — it was fantastic! A friendly crowd, good tunes and a great work out. Ashley really knows her stuff — both in creating a welcoming vibe, and in structuring and leading a fun, high-energy workout. The class is a good balance of cardio moves, kicks and punches, and body weight exercises — good for gals or guys (of which there were several). It was challenging without being impossible and the price is reasonable.

I highly recommend Ashley as a trainer. If it wasn’t for her fun workouts I don’t think I would still be working out 6 months later. I HATE working out but I was obese so I had to do something. Ashley worked with me to slowly build my strength and becomer fitter. I couldn’t do a sit up in my first class. Now I can do 50! She always mixes it up to keep things interesting and she’s taken a personal interest in my goals.Ashley has been a tremendous help with my diet and nutrition also. After a trip to the supermarket with her, my diet improved immensely. She gave me lots of ideas on how to prepare easy and healthy meals and stay on track with my diet and exercise regime.Ashley’s workouts are so much fun that now I look forward to getting my butt kicked by her.
